To contact the police, you should primarily use their website.  

You can use the police’s e-services to report certain types of crime and submit information. There are also e-services for applying for various types of permits and for making an appointment to apply for a passport or national ID card.

When should I call 114 14?

If you cannot find the right e-service on polisen.se, call 114 14 for all matters that are not ongoing or recent crimes and incidents. You can call the number around the clock, every day of the year. In the case of ongoing and urgent crimes, you should always call 112 to alert the police.

What happens when I call 114 14?

When you call 114 14, you will be connected to a voice response system. You state your case and will be connected to the right person or service. The people who answer 114 14 speak Swedish or English. Remember to dial 114 14 only, without the area code. From abroad you call +46 77 114 14 00.

114 14 is not a freephone number. The call rate depends on the phone subscription you have.

What number do I call if I want to report a crime?

If you want to report an ongoing crime, you should always call 112. If it is not an urgent or ongoing situation, it is best to use the online form at polisen.se or you can call 114 14.
