Policy for SOS Alarm Sverige AB in social media

SOS Alarm fulfils a unique public function, alerting emergency resources around the clock in the event of accidents and societal crises. On behalf of the Swedish Government, SOS Alarm is responsible for the emergency number 112, the information number 113 13 and the emergency number 116 000 for missing children and has a central role in society’s crisis preparedness. Its activities also include alerting, security and emergency services for municipalities, regions and companies.

The purpose of our social media is to inform about our activities and give you the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments. Please note that we cannot comment on individual cases or calls via social media. All social media channels are managed by the Communications Department. In an emergency, you should always call 112, we do not handle requests for assistance via Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, YouTube or email.

You can post your questions and comments whenever you wish, and we will answer them during office hours on weekdays. You find further contact details here. 

If you experience a delay in receiving a response to your question or comment, it is because we are working on a response. Posts containing personal or financial information will be removed from our social media pages and the dialogue will continue by phone, email or letter.

Posts that violate laws or are otherwise inappropriate will be removed. This applies to posts that contain:

• slander, personal attacks or insults.
• incitement to racial hatred, sexist or other harassment
• depictions of violence or pornography
• incitement to commit a criminal offence
• unauthorised use of copyrighted material
• material that contravenes the Data Protection Act
• confidential information
• swearing or obscene words
• commercial messages or advertising
• political messages.

Persons in pictures taken by SOS Alarm have been informed that the pictures can be used on the web.
