We work constantly to ensure everyone in Sweden is safe
SOS Alarm was founded in 1973 through a collaboration between the Swedish state, municipalities, and the then-existing county councils. The aim was to create a centralised and efficient emergency communication for all of Sweden.
Much has happened since then. But despite a constantly changing world, our guiding star remains the same now: everyone in Sweden should feel safe.
We are owned by the Swedish state and Sweden's municipalities and regions – and to meet future challenges, it is necessary that we continue working in close cooperation.
We have a central role in the crisis preparedness of our society and we offer an independent range of services and a holistic perspective in alarm management. Through situational analyses, extensive information flows, and advanced technology, we handle alarms and coordinate all of Sweden's aid efforts during accidents, crises, and societal disruptions.
We work to protect national, regional, and private interests and in heightened alert situations, we act to protect critical societal functions.
In close cooperation with our customers and partners, we strengthen the entire Swedish safety chain.
Our vital operations are not possible without our competent employees. Regardless of the incident, we act professionally, according to protocol and evidence, and with great commitment.
Together, we are many who stand ready, equipped to protect lives, property, and the environment. 24 hours a day. All year round. We are the national emergency centre for Sweden.
